Many people use a Kindle or similar nowadays to read books. I personally do not like these as I love the feel and smell of a book and find it is also easier on my eyes than the Kindle. I also find it easier to hold a book, especially when reading in bed.

It is for this reason that I absolutely love book sales. I also used to collect old and rare children's books and various other titles and have an antique display, full of these beautiful old books which I look at from time to time.

If you are a collector, then this is exactly what you need to go to. You may find that rare one that you have been looking for for years!

I collected a series of old Enid Blyton books and particularly those with the golliwog in it. I have had an almost complete set of 24 of one series of Noddy books, however, although I know I could buy it online, I get a thrill from hunting and finding things like this at book sales and the like.

The returns for another exciting year for the keen collector as part of the Melbourne Rare Book Week, which is from 5th to 14th July 2019. It will be held at Wilson Hall, The University of Melbourne, Parkville.

There will be 35 Australian and international booksellers who will have a broad, diverse and interesting selection of books, prints, maps, posters, paintings, manuscripts and ephemera. They are catering to all sorts of collectors and those who just love books as I do. This also caters for all levels of collecting these wonderful items.

Perhaps you already own a nice library of books or art collection and just want to add to it. Or perhaps you just are starting to collect or just love old books. Whatever your reason for buying books, this is truly the one book fair you should not miss!

Maybe you are interested in learning all about the world of collecting? This is definitely your once a year opportunity to explore and chat with people who are experts in this field.

Admission to the is free.

This fair will be hosted by The Anzaab , Melbourne Rare Book Week, and Anzaab - Australian & New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers.
