Currently enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of Melbourne. My day job is admin extraordinaire, copy and content writer while studying psychology and dreaming of a job in PR. Currently broadening my horizons with Weekend Notes.
Everyone's favourite dinner staple, pizza, is getting its own festival this March in Melbourne. Venture down to the ever-popular Crown Riverwalk and enjoy the flavours of Naples during this year's Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
Revel in the sights and smells, while enjoying the roving entertainment and live bands. Entertain the kids with face painting and balloon twisting. Pizza acrobatics will also be performed during the festival, or you can enjoy a deliciously educational experience and witness mozzarella-making demonstrations. True pizza aficionados will also be running pizza master classes.
Once the kids are satiated, luxuriate in a variety of pop-up bars and wine, while appreciating live duos and basking in the setting sun over the Yarra. Join Gradi's Johnny Di Francesco and celebrate true Neapolitan cuisine in an environment designed for a unique event that you can savour.
Experience only the best Naples has to offer, with event endorsement by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (The true Neopolitan Pizza Association). Bring the whole family and enjoy a day - or night - out on the riverside.
This free event is running from the 16th of March and is only on for 3 days, so make sure to get in quick and indulge in the delectable doughy goodness. Open until late evening each night and wheelchair accessible, this is an event for everyone to appreciate. Even if you're not interested in cheesy, passata covered dough, the festival also has a variety of pasta and gelato dishes on offer.
So hop on a train, tram or bus and get down to the Riverwalk at Crown to enjoy the Melbourne Pizza Festival before the ovens stop firing!
