The Melbourne Money Expo hosted by ANDA (Australasian Numismatic Dealers Association) runs over two days (Sat 17 Aug -10am to 4pm & Sun 18 Aug -10am to 3pm), however the Royal Australian Mint will be there for 1 DAY ONLY on the Saturday 17 August 2019. Held at the Malvern Town Hall (1251 High St, Malvern) at the corner of High Street and Glenferrie Road, Malvern, entry is by gold coin donation.
This is your opportunity to snap up some fresh change or buy up some of the Mint's latest releases. Coin swaps will also be available for the 2019 $2 Coloured Circulating Coin (One Hundred Years Of Repatriation 5PK) and the 2019 50c Circulating Coin (International Year of Indigenous Languages (20PK). The 2019 Standard Circulating Coin Sachets (IRB or JC Effigy) available are the $2 (25pk) $50; $1 (20pk) $20; and 50c (20pk) $10. There's some FREE fun for the kids (aged between 5 and 15) as well in The Two Cent Challenge and The Five Cent Forage. A pile of more than 10,000 five cent pieces (28.2 kilograms) will be provided for children to rummage through, to complete a collection of 5 cent coins in every year between 1966 and 2015 in what is termed 'The Five Cent Forage'. That'll keep them busy. As a gift from ANDA, the kids can walk away with their prized five cent collection. Magnifying glasses will be provided along with album pages with backing sheets identifying each of the years from 1966 to 2016.
