I am an academic and writer living in Melbourne. I love to travel and I also love writing about all the things Melbourne, regional Victoria and other parts of Australia have to offer.
Yes, You Can

Don't worry, even if you are not a marathon runner, you can be part of this exciting event taking place through the streets of Melbourne and ending at the MCG on October 14th, 2018.

The Melbourne Marathon is, of course, the ultimate event for long-distance runners; a run that requires serious training and commitment. But if you are a runner of any ability, you can also find a run for your particular category; there is the half-marathon, or the 10, 5 or 3 km runs. All events finish at the MCG and if you have never experienced running into this important and historic Melbourne stadium, then make sure you experience it at least once in your lifetime. To run onto this ground to the cheers of your family and friends, it is a real treat and treasured experience!

Information for all events, starting times, cost, registration and any other important details can be found here. On the website, you can also find valuable information regarding training, fundraising, merchandise and any news as they come to hand. VIRs (Very Important Runners) packages can also be found, these provide lots of extras to make your day even more enjoyable and comfortable.

With only 35 days to go until the starting gun goes off, perhaps now is a good time to put in some extra training to make sure you are fit and ready. There are organised training sessions as well as training programs and tips on the website.
