Australia's renowned millinery competition - the
Melbourne International Millinery Competition (MIMC) - is back for its sixth year in 2022. The competition reaches its 'heady' heights on
Sunday 20th February, with all entries on display, and winners announced, at the stunning Victorian-era mansion
Labassa .
The theme for this year's competition is 'Mother of the Bride/Bridegroom'. Entrants were asked to design and create a hat for the 'Mother' to match one of three outfits designed by
Vivienna Lorikeet , founder of the eponymous Melbourne-based fashion label.
Leading milliners from across Australia and overseas will compete in this prestigious event. More than 50 unique entries will be displayed in Labassa's dining room and drawing-room.
Attendees are invited to get into the spirit of the day by wearing their favourite headwear. So don your favourite bonnet, chapeau, trilby, bowler or turban, and you'll have a 'head start' to the fun festivities.
Five session times are available. Visitors will have the opportunity to complete a house tour, and then take a guided photographic tour. You are invited to bring your own camera. Winners will be announced live during the last session of the day, at around 4pm.
The session times are:
- 10am session: house tour at 10.45am and external photography at tour 11.15am;
