Take your hats off to Labassa
Opulent historic mansion, Labassa will again play host to the Melbourne International Millinery Competition. There will be a public preview of entries during the Open Day on Sunday, February 18. (Book tickets below)
Entrants include a variety of 88 hats from milliners in Spain, Germany, America, India and, of course, Australia — amongst many others.
Demonstrations of silk flower making will be ongoing throughout the day. You can also take a tour of the house which was built in 1862 and features a remarkable social history, as well as spectacular architectural and design features.
There will be refreshments available in the Tea Rooms, including Labassa's famous home-made scones, sandwiches, coffee and tea.
