The main stage in Federation Square will come alive with the rhythms of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival as it hosts the opening concert. Grab your friends and prepare for an afternoon of big band performances and dancing. This free open-air concert will feature some of the Festival's top talents including the legendary Gary Bartz Quartet, Lionel Loueke The Vampires and Sardinian guitar virtuoso Paolo Angeli. They will be joined by some of the country's emerging jazz musicians and the Monash University Brazilian Jazz Ensemble and Latin Jazz Ensemble.
