Besides the ticketed events, there are also a range of free events occurring in and around the city of Melbourne during the Melbourne International Jazz Festival; for example The Big Jam and Opening Celebration Concert, which will both take place at Federation Square and Metlink Musos, which will see a range of artists, bands and ensembles perform in around the public transport network. Federation Square will also be the site of free live music events throughout the ten-day festival; you can view the luchtime concert and twilight concert schedule here.
Plus the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) is presenting a special film program entitled Jazz on Film, while The Kelvin Club will be presenting four special evenings of Jazz.
