While digital gaming has an almost universal appeal, it's not only all about the fun factors. Gaming is the world's biggest entertainment market and also features strongly in the education and health sectors. The current and possible future applications of its technologies are enormous so choosing to make a career in gaming fosters skills and specialities that are in growing demand and likely to remain so. Some of the events held over the week include exploring the possibilities of gaming technologies for business and the community as well as multiple networking and career development opportunities for those in the gaming industry and those who may be looking to join.
So whether you're a games player, maker or enthusiast or know nothing at all about gaming but would like to, and whether you're looking to play games, have fun, do business, network, learn, experience new things, socialise or all of the above, there's something for everyone so you'll want to come along and be part of Melbourne International Games Week.
