MICE has been running since 2013 and is getting bigger and better every year. This year's program will include the signature events, the Australian International Coffee Awards and the Australian Specialty Coffee Association (ASCA) National Coffee Championships.
The Australian International Coffee Awards are hosted by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria and bring together a renowned panel of Australian and International judges to blind taste hundreds of coffee entries from bean roasters throughout the world.
The National Coffee Championships will crown Australia's best barista, the winner going on to represent Australia at the World Barista Championships later in the year. Also on offer will be the title for best Latte artist - a competition judged solely on the the artistic presentation of coffee and milk.
If you're involved with the Australian coffee industry, whether as a grower, roaster, barista, marketer or retailer this expo will provide you with an unparalleled networking opportunity and keep you abreast of all the cutting edge coffee trends and equipment for 2015.
If like myself you are just a humble consumer who can never get enough great coffee, this expo is a must visit. The chance to sample some of the world's finest quality coffee while watching Australia's best baristas and coffee artists strut their stuff on the national stage is an opportunity too good to miss.
MICE will run from 13 - 15 March at the Melbourne Showgrounds. Information about how to get to and from the Showgrounds can be found here. Ticket prices start at $25 for a one day pass (see below). You can purchase your tickets online at the MICE website here.
The ticket price includes unlimited free coffee tastings, free demonstrations and much, much more.
Finally, you may want to consider killing two birds with one stone and purchasing a combined MICE and Melbourne Cake Expo ticket. Both expos are running concurrently and should complement each other perfectly. World class coffee and cake on the same day? Yes please.
