The 5th (10am-6pm) and 6th (10am-5pm) of August 2017 are setting itself up for one of its biggest shows at the Caulfield Racecourse , Station St, Caulfield East. The Melbourne Guitar Show 2017 is going to rock the house down. Bigger and better than their previous years, it's proudly presented by Triple M and Australian Musician ; and why wouldn't they be, with a line-up that'll blow your mind.

Grab your tickets HERE , and you'll find the floorplan , list of exhibitors , and most importantly the show info and program , which are all downloadable. Tickets range from $10-$50, with Premium tickets including admission to Steve Hackett's show. Limited tickets only, so be sure not to miss out. Kids under 12 are free to general guitar show if accompanied by an adult. However, this doesn't apply to the Steve Hackett Performance, for which you require a premium ticket.

An incredible haul of local guitarists will be lining up alongside massive international artists like UK's legendary Steve Hackett (the original Genesis guitarist), Canada's renowned Nick Johnston and UK superstar Alex Hutchings, so expect some killer performances. A solo artist in his own right, this is Hackett's first tour in Australia and he'll be bringing his lavish Genesis Revisited tour, playing classic Genesis prog-rock tunes alongside selected material from his 25 solo albums.

Having already left Genesis when they came to Australia the once in 1986, Steve will bring some Genesis magic to our shores for the hardcore fans out there. At the MGS (Melb Guitar Show) however, it'll be a more eclectic, informal setting in an exclusive up close and personal acoustic-based show featuring musical director Roger King on keyboards and woodwind/ brass virtuoso Rob Townshend. This will be the only Australian performance by the Steve Hackett Acoustic Trio, followed by an onstage Q&A session.

Joining the stacked line-up is Canadian guitar virtuoso Nick Johnston who'll be carving out his unique style with catchy, melody-driven instrumental music. He describes his sound (in food form) is akin to a stir-fry , throwing in all sorts of ingredients to create something different. He's obviously onto a good recipe as he's attracted sponsorship from massive international brands including Friedman Amps, D'Addario and Schecter Guitars.

Also gracing our shores is world-renowned guitarist Alex Hutchings (UK), a modern fusion guitarist par extraordinaire. Considered by many as one of the finest in the genre, his international following has exploded thanks to millions viewing him on his own channel and JamTrackCentral on YouTube. He tours regularly around the globe performing under his own name and as an international demonstrator for BOSS/Roland.

That's not all there is at this event that drew over five and a half thousand guitar lovers and enthusiasts to last year's exhibit. Gearing up to be the biggest event yet, there'll be more exhibitors this year as well as bigger stand presentations by many brands. A monster exhibition will feature a gigantic variety of electric and acoustic guitars, effects pedals, amps and more state-of-the-art guitar technology, both home-grown and from around the world.

Touted as Australia's biggest pop-up shop, it'll also host information seminars, demonstrations, and live performances from Australia's most talented guitarists, including Lloyd Spiegel, Nick Charles and Bob Spencer with many more to be announced. This is your best hands-on chance to see, hear and play a broad range of the world's favourite brands, including some hand-crafted, locally made instruments and epic guitar and gear collections. If you're buying, you could get lucky with some great show deals offered by exhibitors .

Surprise! It seems Diesel will be performing and chatting exclusively at the Melbourne Guitar Show. In celebration of Vox Amplification's 60th anniversary, Diesel will host an intimate clinic discussing his use of Vox amps including the all-new MV50. Performing some of his
amazing songs live, he'll stay on for some Q & A; your chance to chat to one of Australia's most revered musicians.

With five areas that include the AON Whammy Bar, an exclusively Acoustic Stage, the AON Mezzanine Stage, the Winners Circle Workshop Room and Up Close & Personal Cafe Corner, there's plenty to rock you out and go Gaga over with wall to wall activity across the 5 stage areas, plus the main gear exhibition floor and three floors of fretted instrument fun!
