It's the perfect time to be resplendent in your Gothic, Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian/Rococo/Baroque, Elegant Lolita, Steam/Sea Punk and Neo-Victorian attire, and no doubt there's a lot of inspiration around to help you with your outfit.
For a happy afternoon on the green with family and friends, be sure to bring along your own food and drinks, cups, plates and cutlery in your picnic basket. Make it fun. Make some coffin or bat shaped iced cookies to surprise the family. Don't forget the parasol, a picnic blanket or picnic seats and of course where would we be without a camera for more than a fair few selfies; especially with so many gorgeous costumes bound to be worn to this event.
The MGVP raffle tickets will be available soon, so be sure to check back on the Facebook page in the next few days for locations where you'll be able to pre-purchase your raffle tickets before the picnic for just $2. There's a lot of exciting contributions from supporters, so it'll be well worth buying, not only for the prizes, but for the difference it's going to make to our native animals. All proceeds are going towards the Fly By Night Bat Clinic to help them with the care, aid and rehabilitation of our native flying foxes and microbats.
Closer to date, there'll be more details about market stalls, this being only the 2nd picnic market; and entertainment on the Facebook page so please keep referencing back to it, and its event page, especially in the discussion section. You'll find little gems like Jen Hanna, a beautifully talented flautist who will be delighting you with a collection of Baroque and Romantic musical compositions again, at the picnic.
In closing, a bit of housekeeping in a public area. Be sure to leave the gardens as you found them, rubbish and trouble free. Remember your social graces, etiquette and manners and drink and act responsibly.
