With a reputation for all things weird and wonderful, the showcases the work of independent and emerging artists to the Melbourne public. The festival will run over three weeks from the 23rd September to the 11th October and promises to be another mixed bag of comedy, theatre, music, film and even circus arts.

The main box office and festival hub can be found at the North Melbourne Town Hall and Arts House. Events themselves are held in many different venues around Melbourne, from well known spaces such as the Arts Centre to smaller bars, clubs and theatres. Don’t forget to stop for drink at the Fringe Club in the North Melbourne Town Hall, where the entertainment is free and there’s always something going on.

The festival program is jam-packed, with plenty to see and do. You can search through what’s on at the Fringe Festival website, which includes venue and transport information, with the option of easy online ticket purchasing. Tickets average around $18, however those on a tight budget can still find many options. This year’s highlights include the Film Festival Gala Awards night, TOYS dance performance, Fringe furniture exhibition and much more.
