The celebrations of March continue into April with the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and the Easter season. There are plenty of activities for adults and children to enjoy, including an DIY Easter Egg Bag workshop, bird watching with Park Rangers, curated art exhibitions, live comedy acts at Fed Square, a public Easter Sunday worship, a unique gathering of gingers and reds, and an ASEAN food and cultural festival. Whatever event or activity suits your fancy, you'll find something for FREE in the world's most livable city this month.

[SECTION]1 to 15 April - BLINDSIDE's Debut XIII[/SECTION]



Non-profit BLINDSIDE is bringing together a curated selection of painting, sculptural installation and performed works by Melbourne's brightest Fine Arts graduates. They herald from a variety of Victorian arts schools and institutions. The six artworks from artists Trent Crawford, Lucy Foster, Edith Gilfedder, Silvi Kadilari, Darcy Smith and Julia Trybala are selected by a team of curators including Leslie Eastman, Kiron Robinson and David Thomas. Collectively and individually, the works are strong, intriguing, engaging, and full of promise. [SECTION]1 to 22 April - The Song till the End Exhibition[/SECTION]



Arts Project Australia supports artists with intellectual disabilities and promotes their work. This centre of excellence is hosting a solo show featuring Laura Sheehan. A participant of the Arts Project Australia studio since 2004, she has exhibited in numerous group shows in Box Hill Town Hall, Federation Square and the Royal Exhibition Building. Laura draws inspiration from both music and collected stills from research animation for her works and this exhibition showcases her unique ability to blend diverging subject matter into holistic images of vivid colours and bold compositions. [SECTION]4 to 13 April - Junior Rangers Cheeky Beaks[/SECTION]



Grab the kids and head over to the Royal Park for some nature-based activities with the City of Melbourne Park Rangers. The Royal Park is recognised as amongst the world's best and a recipient of the prestigious Green Flag Award. This green oasis of 170 hectares is the largest park in Melbourne. Kids can enjoy the beautiful grasslands, wetlands and biodiversity while learning about Melbourne's bird life. The (Very) Big Laugh Out! Is a comedy event presented by Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Located at Federation Square , the program features acts of comedy, circus, clowning and acrobatics. You and your family can look forward to weekdays and weekends of the world's wackiest comedians with their cheap jokes and memorable acts. [SECTION]6 to 27 April 2017 - Dear Howard Exhibition[/SECTION]



Dear Howard is an exhibition presented by Youth Projects, an organization that supports homeless and disadvantaged people in Melbourne. It is inspired by the film Collateral Beauty where the protagonist, named Howard Inlet, lost his daughter and seeks answers through writing letters to Love, Time, and Death. Located in Library at the Docks, this collective exhibition features letters, artworks, and conversations to Love, Time, and Death by the members of the community. [SECTION]7 & 8 April - MUJI 'My Bag' Workshops[/SECTION]



Getting ready for some serious Easter egg hunting? Need something handy to store the delicious loot? Grab the kids and head over to Emporium Melbourne. MUJI came up with a excellent idea for kids to store all the eggs they've collected during any Easter Egg Hunt. MUJI will conduct a workshop in its Emporium Melbourne store for children aged 2 to 12 years old to make a DIY Easter Bag. There is a maximum of 10 children per workshop, and a parent or a guardian must accompany each child at all times. Spaces are limited so make sure to call the store directly and book a session. Melbourne is truly one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. This April, you and your family can savour the flavours of 10 countries in one event courtesy of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival . The ASEAN Festival brings together communities from Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. They will be sharing their culture through food, music and dance. In addition to food, there are also performances from ASEAN students who are currently enrolled in Melbourne. While the Easter Bunny and eggs are top of every child's mind, three of Melbourne's churches from different denominations have teamed up to bring everyone's attention to the true meaning of Easter Sunday. Join Enjoy Church, Kingston City Church, and Oaktree Anglican at Federation Square as they commemorate Jesus Christ's resurrection from death, share the good news of the gospel and worship through songs. [SECTION]29 April - The Ginger Rally[/SECTION]



Are you ready to paint the town red and ginger? You'll get your chance thanks to the much-anticipated Ginger Pride Rally. Back for a second year, this social event is hosted by Buderim Ginger. This year is set to be bigger and better and fierier than the previous. You and your family can enjoy free ginger beer, games of Ginger Beer Pong, photo booth stalls, kids' activities by Alannah & Madeline Foundation, and speed dating hosted by Singles Events Melbourne. There will also be live performances by The Vanns, Luize Scott and X-Factor's Brentwood.

This event's official beneficiary is Alannah & Madeline Foundation, whereby 50 percent of funds raised from sold merchandise will be donated to the said foundation. Alannah & Madeline Foundation is a charity that advocates for children's safety, and cares for those who have been seriously abused and bullied. Everyone is welcome to take part in this event.
