It is easy to stay active and healthy this month with a choice of fitness sessions and meditation in Federation Square or Tai Chi in Docklands. Now you can spice up your fitness regime with Zumba classes at Boyd Community Hub's Assembly Hall. This former JH Boyd Girls' High School has been transformed into the City of Melbourne's first integrated community service space with a library, cafe, studios and meeting rooms. 6 June - Wellbeing with Herbs

Casey-Cardinia Library Corporation and Sarah Cowell are hosting a FREE session about herbs and herbal remedies at Endeavour Hills Library. Sarah is the founder of Teasense and AustralAsian Specialty Tea Association. She was a Tea Sommelier at Vue de Monde and Storm in a Teacup. You will learn how herbs have been used for wellbeing across the ages and cultures as well as herbs to treat common ailments, support immunity and application in food and drink. 10 June - Up-close with Reptiles



Kids from age 3 and above can get up close with real life reptiles at West Footscray Library without making a trip to Zoodoo near Hobart. The RooKeepers mobile zoo started by wildlife enthusiast Michael Church is one of the leading providers of wildlife shows for early learning centres, kindergartens and primary schools in Victoria. Your kids can enjoy an interactive encounter with 8 reptiles including lizards, turtles, snakes and even a crocodile. They will learn about these animals including their features, behaviour, habitat and reproduction. Maybe wrap a python around the neck for a photo. 11 June - Global Wellness Day

14 June - The Dressmaker Film at Fitzroy Library



This award winning film has inspired so many related events including a 1950's Pop Up Bar and Footballers' Dance at Rippon Lea House and Gardens. There's also a meet up with author Rosalie Ham and film producer Sue Maslin. If you haven't seen the movie starring Kate Winslet and Liam Hemsworth, here's you chance to enjoy a FREE screening by Fitzroy Library. The movie is rated 'M' and runs for 118 minutes. 21 June - Mass Yoga Session at Fed Square



To celebrate International Yoga Day, Federation Square has teamed up with KAYA, Melbourne's premier mind and body health club to conduct a special mass Yoga class in the Main Square during lunch time. The session is led by an experienced Yoga teacher who will guide you through a series of stretching and postures. These movements together with will help improve your core strength and flexibility. 22 June - The Hidden History of Prahran Market



Prahan Market is often referred to as Melbourne's 'food lovers market' due to the gourmet produce and gastronomic events like Market Week and the Truffle Festival. However few are aware of its hidden past as the oldest continuously running Market in Australia. Join Lesley Sharon Rosenthal at Stonnington History Centre as she shares the rich history of the Market's people and produce through the Depressions, devastating 1950 fire, redevelopment proposals and competition from supermarkets. 25 June - Help the Frogs of Pobblebonk Park



Many species of animals make their homes in the waterways, gardens and parks of Melbourne. While they are rarely visible at first sight, these animals have inspired art installations like the life-size sculptures of fruit bats by Kathy Holowko and provided numerous learning opportunities for children such as the Junior Ranger programme. One such creature is the frog of Pobblebonk Park. It may not be facing extinction like the Tasmania Devil but its living environment could certainly use you and your family's help.

Pull on your gloves and gumboots and join Friends of Native Wildlife Inc. in an effort to clean up the pond, remove some of the reeds and create hidey holes for the frogs. The organisation consists of residents active in conserving local native fauna through community engagement and research. Kids age 6 years and above are welcomed to join but must be accompanied by an adult. Click here to get your tickets.

28 June - Greek Cooking



Melbourne is home to a large Greek community, festivals and cuisine. If you always wanted to try your hand at serving up some Greek dishes, then head over to Glenroy Library. Moreland City Libraries is hosting a FREE Greek cooking class as part of its effort to promote learning and reading. The class is led by Angela Nicolettou from Angela's Kitchen who specialises in Greek and Spanish cuisine. She will share recipes and techniques for some popular Greek dishes that you can recreate at home. You can also take the opportuntity to browse and borrow the cookbooks, DVDs and CDs on Greek cuisine available at the library. Spaces are limited so click here to reserve your seat.

30 June - Harry Potter Book Night



Grab the kids and head over to Carlton Library for a fun-filled evening dedicated to all things Harry Potter. Organised by Yarra Libraries, children age 5 to 12 years can enjoy a book reading of the first chapter from the Harry Book and join in games and activities to win the House Cup.
