If you can't make it to Melbourne to watch the race that stops a nation from the Flemington Race Track, there are other race courses around the country where you can have a race day experience in your own town.

Melbourne Cup Day is part of Australian sporting tradition. The Melbourne Cup is an annual Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race held in Melbourne, Australia, at the Flemington Racecourse. It is a 3200-metre race for three-year-olds and older, conducted by the Victoria Racing Club as part of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival1. The race takes place on the first Tuesday of November, which is a public holiday in Melbourne. The Melbourne Cup has a 160-year history and is considered one of the most prestigious races in the world.

While the big race is being held in Melbourne, race courses around Australia will also join in the Festivities of Melbourne Cup with local activities to celebrate the big race.
