A mum of three, engineer, scientist, educator, and all around dabbler, I'm far better at finding interesting things to do than I am at doing housework.

Sometimes, the best park isn't the one with the best play equipment. Or even the one with the trendiest cafe. And while garden beds can be very pretty, sometimes that isn't what you're looking for either.
When the weather has been wet and cabin fever is taking hold, sometimes the best park is the one with the biggest puddles.
Talbot Park in Oakleigh South is a strong contender for the title of "Best puddled park in Melbourne". Poor drainage in some sections of the park behind the playground result in truly enormous puddles with every substantial rainstorm. This isn't a park for jumping over puddles. This is a park for jumping in them, or going wading.
For a great rainy day outing, bring children, gum boots, a change of clothes and a sense of fun.
What do you think? What other Melbourne parks have puddles worth jumping over, or in?
