Quality pizza made by Cielo's at McKinnon Road, McKinnon

There is no need to fly to Italy, as you can easily find the European experience right here in Melbourne. Many of these establishments do use high quality ingredients (some are imported from Europe) and are real standout pizza establishments. These pizza places are listed in order of preference.

1. Cielo's Pizza

I have already written a more comprehensive review on this establishment for WeekendNotes, yet every time I return to this pizzeria at McKinnon, I am always blown away with the best tasting pizza ever. Cielo's is definitely an establishment where you can expect to be treated to freshly made pizzas with customer service that is second to none. Come here hungry because the toppings are so generous in size. Words cannot fully convey the greatness of this establishment; it needs to be seen (and appreciated) for yourself.

2. Pizza Edge

If you happen to find yourself within the Glenroy area, this establishment would have to be your home. The old school pizzas are in the spotlight here, and their hawaiian and margarita pizzas are delicious.

3. Pizza Farro

Great woodfire pizzas. They are cooked to perfection, and this establishment is the home of gluten free pizzas in Melbourne. One of my friends is going to shoot me for including this establishment in this article; they want it to remain as one of Melbourne's 'best kept secrets' in the pizza stakes.

4. Melbourne Pizza Bar

The payment system was a little out there, yet my margarita pizza had just the right amount of cheese and herbs. One of the best pizza joints you can find in the nightclub end of King Street in the city.

5. Cellini Lounge Bar

Cellini's is a great casual hangout spot for quality pizzas that just taste so fresh and flavoursome; I cannot put my finger on it as to why.

6. Republica

Their pizzas are piping hot and great tasting. My only complaint would be the skimpy toppings, yet Republica - after a night of playing beach volleyball in high winds, you are my 'pizza' heaven. Perfect if you do not have the appetite of a raging bull.

You actually missed the best one in Melbourne it is actually NAPOLI PIZZA in Russell street CBD opp Greater Union Cinemas. The Pizza is as good now as it was 32 years ago when I first ate their pizzas. Every person I have ever taken there agrees. Forget Lygon Street and the rest and go for the best!
