My kids enjoyed Melbourne Aquarium when we went there. There are a lot of cute sea creatures to see and you get to be up close to them as well.

I enjoyed seeing the penguins, they were really cute and it was cool to see them in real life, my youngest was fascinated by them as he loves the movie "Happy Feet".

You can walk around the aquarium with the paths they have so you don't miss anything. The atmosphere is quite peaceful, watching the big fish swim around is relaxing.

They even have a place you can put your head and it feels as if you are in the tank, the kids were crazy about that and spent about twenty minutes poking their head in it.

The aquarium has big stingrays and sharks that swim overhead. It's quite fascinating to see these creatures swim over you.

My boys' favourite part was the sharks, they were really hoping to see the sharks break out in fight but they were quite tame.

If you visit the aquarium around lunch time there is a cafe upstairs, with a lovely view of the Yarra River and city. They serve hot chips, pastries, sandwiches, fruit, hot food and drinks.

A day at the aquarium is something you should consider for the school holidays.
