Ever wondered how electricity works, but didn't know how to experiment with it safely? Well, at the and Exhibitions/Exhibitions/2011/02/Megawatt Megawatt Exhibition , you can do just that.

Electricity runs a majority of appliances in every home. It lets you see and work during the day and night, it powers your computer and your microwave, it lets you enjoy TV and have a range of foods and drinks stored in the fridge. Yet sometimes it is taken for granted, and that's why exhibitions like Megawatt help us get back to the basics, and even teach us some new things about this important energy source.

There will be over 40 exhibits and information modules, exploring how we use electricity and its importance in every home. Sources of renewable and sustainable energy will also be featured at the exhibition. The cost for an adult is $12, and per child (aged 3-15) is $9. Concessions are also available.

There is lots to see and do, including generating electricity, discovering electricity circuits and motors, and electromagnets. You can get a chance to send a message in Morse Code, touch the spark with a Plasma Ball, become a "human battery", and even create your own science fiction soundtrack.

Megawatt Exhibition will be on show until next year, so visit the Queensland Museum Sciencentre , one of the only places you can push, pull, press and play safely with electricity.
