The love of books lasts a lifetime
I know it doesn't seem possible but it is only a matter of weeks before we send our children off for the new school year. It's a busy time, an expensive time, and for some, it is even an emotional rollercoaster time, especially for parents with younger children.

Megan Daley has been awarded the Queensland Teacher Librarian of the Year and the national Dromken Librarians Award. She is also the author of Raising Readers - How to Nurture a Child's Love of Books which she will be sharing at an Author Talk at the Victoria Point Library, at a perfect time for the new school year.

Megan's aim is to "empower parents, carers and educators of primary school aged children to take an active role in fostering their child's lifelong love of reading."

This free event will be held on Friday, 17th of January, commencing at 10am and finishing at 11am, though bookings are essential. Go here.

Victoria Point Library is located at 7- 15 Bunker Road, Victoria Point Lakeside.
