The Mega Toy Fair has been running every year for 25 years in Adelaide Showgrounds, bringing the best of vintage and retro toys to Adelaide as well as modern toys. This popular market and exhibition has a huge following from people of all ages. Kids love to see all the unusual toys that they have never seen before, while adults can nostalgically re-visit their childhood.

This year there will be more than 260 tables of exhibitors at this huge toy fair in Adelaide. Over the years the fair has hosted overseas traders from Japan and New Zealand as well as many from all over Australia - including the guys from Wilmington Toy Museum in the Flinders Ranges . Collectors come from all over the world to look for that something special to add to their collections, and people in Adelaide are the winners.

This mega toy fair just doesn't cater for the serious collector, it is also for families with kids to come and have a look, and relive their past with toys from yesteryear. You'll find a huge variety of antiques and collectables including tin toys from the 1940's to 1960's, Scalextric cars and other slot cars, model tractors, trucks and fire engines. Other kids will love the Barbie dolls, teddy bears, Lego sets, Nintendo consoles and games, Meccano sets, comics, Star Wars memorabilia, and a whole heap of board games and jigsaws.

Also look out for model cars such as Hot Wheels, Matchbox toys, Corgi Dinky toys, trading cards, Game Boy consoles, assorted video games, model trains (remember Triang trains?), sports memorabilia and so much more. The guys from Starship Mawson will have some of their traders dressed up in the Star Wars characters adding some excitement and glamour to the Mega Toy Fair.

If you have some old toys lying around at home that haven't seen the light of day for a few years, bring them along to this toy fair at Adelaide Showgrounds. They are keen for you to bring along any old toys if you are wanting to have them valued, or even trade in or sell off. Just ask at the front counter when you arrive and the friendly staff can help you.

runs over two days in June, on Saturday June 2 from 10am to 5pm and on Sunday June 3 from 10am to 3pm. The Adelaide Showground has recently upgraded its car parking area and there's plenty of room for car parking - access via Rose Terrace. Bus and train services (from the Adelaide Showgrounds station ) are frequent if you are using public transport. Food is available in the atrium on both days, and on Sunday there is also the Adelaide Showgrounds Farmers' Market next door for great fresh food.

Admission prices to the are very reasonable: adults $8, concession $7, kids 12-17 $2, and kids under 12 are free. Find out more about this awesome vintage and retro toy fair in the Stirling Angus Hall at the Adelaide Showgrounds on their Facebook page here .
