Let's write about life, after death
As a writer who has an interest in life story writing, I am looking forward to meeting with one of the world's most notable Obituary Writers.
Tim Bullamore, who has won awards for his obituary writing for newspapers in the UK, such as The Daily Telegraph, The Times and The Guardian, will be speaking in Brisbane in October.
Newspapers in the UK and USA feature many stories of ordinary and famous people, who have passed away, and it is common to see books with collections of stories not only of the rich and famous, good citizens and bad ones, "quirky and unusual" as well of course as those significant people such as royal families, politicians, celebrities and more.
Tim, who is regarded as one of the world's best obituary writers will be the guest speaker at the Brisbane Square Library on Sunday 15th October at 11 am for an entertaining session, where he will discuss the history of obituary writing, as well as stories from his 24 years of experience in the field.
He is a member of the International Society of Obituary Writers, based in the US.
Obituary writing is not about death, it is about life and guests will no doubt not only enjoy the free event but go home with a different view of obituaries.
The event is FREE, but those wishing to attend will need to book by contacting the Brisbane Square Library on (07) 3403 4166 reserve your place.
