Paula Hawkins will be presenting a session on Wednesday the 18th May at the Ithaca Auditorium in the Brisbane City Hall.

Paula Hawkins was a journalist for fifteen years before turning her hand to fiction. She received worldwide attention when her debut novel, The Girl on the Train, became a number one bestseller around the world. It has since been translated into over forty languages and a film adaptation is currently being made.

Girl on a Train is an immersive book and an electrifying debut. It was one of my favourite books of last year. Here's the book blurb:
%%Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She's even started to feel like she knows them. "Jess and Jason," she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

And then she sees something shocking. It's only a minute until the train moves on, but it's enough. Now everything's changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?%%

Join Paula as she discusses her journey to becoming a bestselling author.

After the session Paula will be signing books so bring your copy from home or you can purchase one on the evening. Dymocks will be selling copies of the book at the event.

The event is free but you must book a seat. Phone Brisbane Square Library on 07 3403 4166 to reserve your place.

Dymocks Brisbane is hosting this event in conjunction with the Brisbane City Council Libraries as part of the Lord Mayor Writers in Residence series.
