Shaggy dog, sausage sizzle, DIY advice & kids' activities
Everyone in Australia knows the Dulux dog, that large, loveable and incredibly shaggy English sheep dog who's been bounding across our television screens for years. Well, you have an opportunity to meet the marvellous mutt at the official opening of The Hardware Store in Alexandria on Saturday 6 July.

The Celebrations
It isn't all about the dog. There will be a full day of in-store activities and promotions including the Dulux Dog from 9am to 12 noon. Bring the kids along for a photo opportunity. From 9am to 5pm the children can also enjoy face painting, craft, balloons and a sausage sizzle, while parents can look forward to canapes and celebration drinks from 3pm to 5pm.

You can also meet a host of experts with advice for all your DIY projects. The Hardware Store's best suppliers will be on site with giveaways, lucky door prizes and promotional goods. There's even a 10% discount for in store purchases (excluding power tools) on the day.

The Hardware Store
The Hardware Store at Alexandria is a new, larger and more diverse store venture for owner Grant Crowle, who already has a popular established presence with The Hardware Store in Balmain. The new store has office space that is being leased by architects and designers and Grant has plans to introduce a small cafe managed by the team behind The Little Marionette brand.

What you'll get at The Hardware Store that you won't find elsewhere are partnerships with architects and designers to provide an effective one-stop shop for customers. This efficient approach brings project managers and builders through the door, but can also save time, effort and money for the home handyman as well.

The Hardware Store is a community based business with a focus on excellent customer service. They employ local staff and partner with local businesses. The Balmain store has a history of supporting local organisations and schools and Grant is currently working with local schools and sports teams in the Alexandria area as part of our charitable-giving strategy.

You can find out more about The Hardware Store and Grant's philosophy in the video below:

Come along and enjoy all the fun and advice on offer at their opening celebrations.
