The dating world can be scary, but going to the right places will help you find new friends and hopefully a potential date. Here are a few places you can do and why.

The Beach

During summer, everyone is looking for a summer romance. Head on down to the beach with some friends (single ones) and flaunt your stuff. If you see a group of guys playing beach volleyball, ask to join in. Being confident is great especially when you're around guys. If you're at the local beach cafe and see a guy looking at you, give him a smile and say hello. It's not that hard to engage in a conversation with a stranger, makes it easier if they seem interested to talk to you.

The Gym

So you've decided to start working out, only problem is you're so shy because there's so many buff, good looking guys at the gym? Don't let that put you off. If you keep going to the gym, you'll get to know the regulars. Ask someone there if they can give you a hand with a piece of equipment or ask for advice.

If you get along with someone there, organize to go for a walk or go out for a healthy dinner.

Think about joining a group or something that you're interested in. Chess, bowling, yoga, walking groups, you'll easily be able to meet someone with the same interests as you and you'll get a long.

You don't even have to go on a dating site, there's lots of apps that you can download that let you set up a carefree profile, then you can chat to people on it. Some are after dating and relationships, others just want friends. Try making friends with a few people and if they live close, go out for a coffee. It's easy and less scary than talking to someone in person.
