For my Mum's birthday last weekend my sister made reservations at Meesh's restaurant in Burleigh.

The restaurant is right on the water and if you stood at the back doors you could feel the salt spray on your face. We had a rounded booth that looked out onto the water with the beach beside us. The booth comfortably sat the six of us and the inside of the restaurant was pleasantly designed.

When we first arrived our waiter insisted we try a certain wine. Surprisingly it was not the most expensive on the list and was moderately priced. We went with his suggestion and although it took him 20 minutes to bring it out to us it was a nice start to our lunch. It was a Sunday and the restaurant quickly filled up. Our waiter seemed to be rather busy but was pleasant and cheerful.

The main meals were all delightful. Two people at our table ordered the special of the day which was only $22 and included a drink of house wine or beer. I got the vegetarian option of the burger which was satisfying and the chips on the side were also yummy.

Unfortunately after we ordered dessert it did take over half an hour for them to arrive at our table. However we got the waiters sincerest apology and couldn't complain too much when we had an $11 million view. The desserts were good as well but maybe a little pricey.

All in all we probably did wait longer than expected between meals for a lunch but the food was great and the view was superb. Would recommend and would definitely return.

No longer operating. Was closed down in 2012 after storms and high seas flooded the place.
