If you venture out towards Williamtown, then a visit to Medowie Macadamias is a must. I found this little gem by accident when we were trying to find a place to turn around.

Medowie Macadamias: Entrance sign
The Plantation is located in Port Stephens, between Williamtown and Raymond Terrace about 35 minutes north of Newcastle and just over 2 hours from Sydney.
Medowie Macadamias was established in 1980. The current owners have been on the property for around 13 years, and are involved in every stage of the macadamias' production process making it a fully family owned and run establishment.

Medowie Macadamias: Plantation Trees.
The plantation has 5 different varieties of nuts growing on the plantation's lush 12 acres. You can take the 30 minute tour of the plantation viewing the production process, however you will need to book in advance.
There is a wonderful little cafe which is open from 9 am - 2 pm serving breakfast and lunch. A cup of coffee is around $3.50 and the meals range from $6 - $18. If you don't want to have a main meal you can drop in and try their delightful desserts.

Medowie Macadamias: Cafe Specials Board.
Inside the cafe is a selection of macadamia nut products. The range includes not only the nuts in many different raw and flavored varieties, but skin care, honey, and nutcrackers.
