At first glance, Mediterrano restaurant is not exactly in the best part of Pittsburgh - technically it's in the North Hills area. But, once you walk inside, you truly feel like you are in a Greek restaurant. The lady that seated my friend and I was incredibly polite and nice - she even had a Croatian accent to make it feel like you were really in another country.

The meal started off with a Chef's complimentary dish of warm pita and hummus with Kalamata olives - it tasted exceptional.

I had a special dish - Lamb Chops with a demi glace, Greek mashed potatoes (with basil and feta mixed in), and grilled asparagus. The demi glace on the chops was good enough to drink - in fact, I asked for a to go cup of it. Everything, including the chops, were cooked to my liking.

My friend had a chicken kabob platter with large pieces of grilled white chicken, skewered with red onions, red peppers and green peppers laid on a bed of rice. It was also outstanding.

Besides the food, most people want to know about the cleanliness. The floors, bathroom, utensils and decor were all clean. The only complaint I had was that it's a BYOB restaurant, but there is a Beer Distributor right next door. However, all they sell is beer. If you want wine, make sure you bring a bottle.
