Gen Kelsang Tonglam is the resident teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre in Taiwan. He is making a special trip to Hong Kong to lead the East Asian Dharma Celebration weekend retreat held in The New Territories.


The main subject is 'Taking the Supreme Medicine of Kadam Lamrim' which is a Buddhist teaching to relieve the sufferings of sickness, ageing, death and rebirth. There will be commentary about the practice and guided meditation throughout the course.


People are converging on Hong Kong from various parts of Asia such as the Philippines, Taiwan and Singapore to participate in the event. If you live locally you need only catch the train to Kowloon Tong or Tsuen Wan West MTR station. There is a complimentary shuttle bus each morning from those two MTR stations to the venue and back again at the end of each day. For more details on the shuttle bus schedule click here .


All are welcome to join for a single day or attend the whole festival. There is a discount for the three-day ticket. Accommodation with breakfast is available at additional cost.


Teachings are in Cantonese with English and Mandarin translation. Festival fees include vegetarian lunch and dinner and shuttle bus to and from the venue. For more details on prices and how to book click here .
