Looking for a place to enjoy a lazy Sunday meal? Head to Meat Market, 53 South Wharf Promenade, for a relaxed, quiet, riverside venue where no-one seems to be watching the clock.

Sit at the central open kitchen indoors or enjoy city views while dining in the terrace area.We ordered hand cut chips with garlic aioli and tomato sauce ($9), just as delicious as they appear in the photograph; shucked oysters ($3.5 each), and a glass of sauvignon blanc ($10); a perfect Sunday late afternoon break.

Weekly specials include lunch and wine or beer ($20, M-Thu noon-2pm); two course dinner and wine or beer ($45, M-Thu 5pm-6.30pm); and seafood BBQ Sundays ($65, noon -4pm).

Menu items include pasture fed beef, free range chicken and sustainable fish.

With beautiful riverside city views from the terrace, and friendly staff, this is an ideal space to pass the day.
