A simple way to start making a difference
There is Monday movement that is gaining momentum worldwide. This is a great reason to like Monday's for your health, the planet and your environment. Having a Meat Free Monday every week is a simple way to start making a difference in the world.

Sir Paul McCartney, with his daughters Mary and Stella, launched a new food campaign Meat Free Monday on Monday 15th June 2009, which encourages people to help slow climate change by having one meat free day a week. Their ethos is to help our beautiful planet, be healthy and happy, save the pennies and think of animals.

The campaign has already gathered an impressive list of supporters from the worlds of entertainment, politics and the environmental sciences. Jamie Oliver has recently committed his support to the Food Revolution campaign which supports healthy eating and a meat reduction diet. Paul McCartney and others will sing on a specially commissioned song 'Revolution' for Jamie's campaign. Jamie Oliver is also just about to launch a vegetarian cookbook. He says on the Meat Free Monday website:

"‪#‎MeatFreeMonday‬ is the most brilliant excuse to focus on the incredible variety of veggies out there the flavours, textures and wonderful dishes you can create is beyond belief. So here's to Meat Free Monday and frankly, meat-free Wednesdays too." - Jamie Oliver

The website has some great recipe ideas. Stella McCartney has contributed a winter warmer soup recipe. Her recipe for winter minestrone is available online. Your menu options can sometimes get a bit stale. Meat Free Monday is an opportunity to broaden food ideas and your body will thank you too. For further information you can also go to the Meat Free Monday Facebook page.
