There's a volunteer in all of us
In these challenging times of COVID-19, there have been lots of changes to our wider society. Most volunteer opportunities are not possible at the moment due to restrictions on events and social isolation. However, there is a vital opportunity to volunteer which supports our most vulnerable. Bored at home? Now is the time to volunteer.
If you are capable and not an at-risk person yourself, please consider getting involved with opportunities to volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels Australia has nearly 40,000 volunteers aged over 70 years, who have been strongly advised to stay home. To keep them to be safe during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency, younger reinforcements are urgently needed to take over their meal delivery shifts. More and more older Australians need Meals on Wheels deliveries to stay well, particularly at this time.
