Noted for being one of the best events of its kind in the Adelaide Hills, the Meadows Country Fair falls on Sunday 21 October 2018 from 9am to 4.30pm at Meadows Oval, Mawson Rd, Meadows. Get your Early Bird Express Entry tickets online until 19 October at 6.30pm, or get them at the gate when it opens at 9am for $7. Children under 12 years go free. Your tickets are valid for entry to entertainment and displays, including Farmers Alley, Animal Expo and Field Day.
Follow the Daisy Trail by grabbing a $6 bag (only 250 bags available, so get in quick) from the Cancer Council and Information Booth at the front entrance, and you could win tickets for a trip for you and your family on the SteamRanger. The trail incorporates around 10 stalls throughout the Field Day, Animal Expo, Farmers Alley and Market Stalls, and it's a fun way to explore the whole fair as you enjoy all the fun activities on the way.
The Under Tug feature event alone is bound to put a few smiles on your faces. Win up to $1000 cash and come to the auction at 1pm for your chance to buy the right to milk a cow. One of the main attractions, it's going to be fun watching this hand milking competition at 1.30pm as professional and celebrity competitors duke it out to be a cut above the rest. This is South Australia's only hand milking competition and you can check the rules of engagement online. Be sure to check out all competitions on the printed program, on the day.
All proceeds of the fair goes to local community groups, sporting bodies and emergency services, plus a chosen Charity each year takes a 10% donation of gate takings given.
