Filmed right here in Canberra, this hilarious movie features three telecommunications tradesmen, trapped inside a telephone exchange during a zombie apocalypse and follows their many misadventures as they try to escape before being eaten alive.
As expected in a zom-com movie, there are gory bits, swearing and some adult scenes but the regular one-liners kept the audience in stitches and the ending was followed by a round of applause. Fans of Bliss N Eso may also recognise the songs on the sound track.
I highly recommend you go and see this gem of an Aussie film if you can, especially if you particularly enjoy funny zombie movies (think
Shawn of the Dead but Australian where the biggest concerns are, as they probably always will be even in a zombie apocalypse, beer and the cricket). I also bought the DVD which is sold before and after the film, however it will be posted to you as they are not able to release the DVD before the end of the theatrical release.
The next showing of the film will be August 19th in Canberra City, at the Dendy Cinemas, starting at 6.30pm and tickets cost $20. There is also a short film prior, I unfortunately missed this as I was running late, so would recommend you go a little ahead of starting time to catch that. Make sure you stay to the very end to catch hidden scenes in the credits. Please comment below if you go to see them - I'd love to know what you think.
