The McLaren Vale is one of my favourite wine growing areas, and I particularly enjoy their fabulous reds. The McLaren Vale Sea and Vines Festival 2017 isn't just about the wines though, it's all about a food and entertainment experience. Held over the June long weekend, Sea and Vines is the perfect opportunity to get away south of Adelaide.
Starting Saturday June 10 until Monday June 12, thousands of people will descend on the 26 participating wineries for a weekend of fun and festivities. From intimate degustation dinners with celebrity chefs and winemakers, structured masterclasses, street food trucks, live music, jumping castles and petting zoos – there's fun things to do for everyone.

Tasting a selection of cheese while exploring delicious old vintages of this complex wine will set you back $200, but you do get to take home a signed bottle of the current vintage, beautifully presented in a gift box.

McLaren Vale Grape Wine & Tourism Association General Manager, Jennifer Lynch is eager to showcase the very best of McLaren Vale's producers, and the unique offering visitors can experience in the region year-round.
The celebrations are not limited to a single day, so the best way to experience the exceptional hospitality of our region's producers is for Festival-goers to consider accommodation options to stay in McLaren Vale over the long weekend," said Ms Lynch.
I'm really looking forward to the gourmet delights of Sea and Vines. If you missed out on the Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend because you're south of Adelaide and on the wrong side of town, then here is your big chance.
