An easy, no fuss, outing for a summer night out
McLaren Vale Night Market has been operating over the summer. It is held every Friday night from 5pm to 9pm in the Piazza or Town Square on the main road. This is a small market with a community vibe, showcasing some of the best of Fleurieu's food, wine and local handmade goods.
But hurry as they are only there for three more Fridays, with the last event on Friday 22nd of February. Do pop in and see them as it is a top little event to visit if you are living down that way or want an easy going evening out.

When I visited, the food had almost gone for the night but still available was the produce platters by regular Fleurieu foodies Garden2 Kitchen. The attractive looking platters were full of local bread, crackers, cheese, nuts and dried fruit with salad greens. These people do some lovely jars full of sun-dried tomatoes and other homemade produce. The platter can be made for one or a shared one for two people. Two other food providers are at the market on the night that change weekly.

The market has a good selection of mostly locally handmade goods for sale including, soaps, bath bombs, scented candles, macrame, shells, jewellery and more. An interesting stall is the one with hemp products, who have made some hemp doggy treats.
Local massage therapist Jules van Kekem has made some orgonometers which diffuse geopathic and electro-magnetic stress from power sources and electrical items in your home. The whole family is there at the market selling their wonderful products. All the goods at the market would make ideal gifts for dear ones, so stock up for the year ahead.

There is live music for an hour or so at every night market. Enjoy a drink and something to eat while relaxing at this sweet and very friendly local market. Thanks to Jazmin, the market organiser, for telling me all about the market and the lovely stallholders for sharing information about their products.
