is the best way to start your wine touring day, whether you are familiar with the area or visiting from overseas or interstate for the first time. This visitor centre is an open book with lots of information about the region, as well as an open place for everybody to explore and ease themselves into a world of wine, hospitality and great quality products.



Located at the very entrance of McLaren Vale's Main Road, this spot is hard to miss, but with so many great wineries, cellar doors, touristic attractions and restaurants, it can be confusing trying to decide where to go or what to do! Which is why the local council, created this visitor centre. Here you will have access to endless pamphlets, local magazines and maps to help you find your way and their super friendly and knowledgeable staff can also assist with tips, current events, accommodation bookings and directions.

Recharge from a long drive or prepare yourself for the day with a drink and some food from their café which offers reasonable prices, meal specials and stunning views. Children can play in the open air as you enjoy a coffee or ice cream in the outdoor decking area.



The Visitor Centre has a rustic and charming modern atmosphere, making it a very pleasant spot to plan your adventures, learn about regional sustainability and local soil conditions.



If you have never been wine tasting before, you can do so here! They have a cellar door for the public to sample local wines and learn about the making process.

This centre really caters for everyone. For art lovers there are running exhibitions at their small art gallery, history fanatics can learn all the facts and check out old photographs. Shoppers can purchase locally made crafts, arts and souvenirs. Book worms can bury their eyes in some of their beautiful books with local themes and Australian genres, from books on wildlife and cookery to wine making and kids books.



Whether you are here for a quick stop or a leisurely one, leaving is an attraction in itself; the car park is full of rosemary and lavender bushes, almond trees and other local flora which decorate the surroundings, and of course, you have a view to an endless green vineyard!



This Visitor Centre is certainly not one to grab brochures and run. As everything has been carefully planned for you and your family to have a great time, the atmosphere, people and sights all welcome you with open arms to a unique region and a stunning spot to start experiencing it!
