The McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Visitor Information Centre is the place to start your visit to the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula. As well as lots of information the centre has a cafe, art gallery, cellar door and a fun modern playground in a tranquil garden setting. The friendly staff have good local knowledge and will help you find fun things to do around McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu Peninsula and even book accommodation or tours for you. The kids can play in the gardens where it is easy to keep an eye on them and enjoy a coffee at the same time.
The Visitor Centre is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 10am to 4pm. (Closed on Christmas Day and Good Friday). If you want coffee and cake or a light meal the Cafe menu offers a good choice and you can dine inside or alfresco on the deck.
Visitors can start their wine tasting in the Cellar Door which offers tastings from local artisan wineries and chat to the winemaker. Or pick up a free map of all the Cellar Doors to explore in the McLaren Vale area. A good way to explore the area is to take the recommended tourist drive that will take you past beautiful vineyard scenery and distant ocean views.
