Relish Saturday and start your amazing weekend at the Oxenberry Breaky Experience. For just $35 per person, you can start the weekend with bubbles in the heart of McLaren Vale overlooking the vines on the banks of Pedlers Creek and in the midst of the Shiraz Trail at 26 Kangarilla Road, McLaren Vale. If, after all that you are thinking dinner, head to A Griffon's Feast (Kay Brothers) for a fantastic 3 course dinner including wine and entertainment for just $95 per person or maybe it's time for a visit to the fabulous d'Arenberg for Frisson Fest at Polly's for just $45. Get yourself a good night's sleep because you have two big days ahead of you! If you are an early starter, your Sunday Experience could commence at 9 am with the Roots of the Blues Breakfast at Red Poles, 190 McMurtrie Road, McLaren Vale. This 'Southern Style' breakfast amongst the vines will be accompanied by fantastic blues sounds with prizes for quirky drawings, clever ditties and decorations on your tablecloth while enjoying creole scrambled eggs, cornbread, hashbrowns and fried green tomatoes (the real thing, not the movie) all for just $30 per person.
Or maybe fill Sunday with one of the many Sunday Session experiences all accompanied by great entertainment. Amongst the many options are An Octopus's Garden (Maxwell), Mother Russia (Coriole Vineyards) and I Love Italy (Serafino McLaren Vale). Ah, beautiful Monday. This is the Monday morning you won't mind getting out of bed and is a great day to avail yourself of one or more of the 16 free-entry family events. Include the whole family, even the fur babies by heading on down to Alpha Box & Dice, 8 Olivers Road, McLaren Vale for Family Dog Day. There will be food by Abs' Kebabs and wine available for purchase and great acoustic sets by local acts. The day starts at 10 am and tickets are not required.
Other events could see you Relax & Unwind at Kay Brothers, 57 Kays Road, McLaren Vale with medieval inspired, gourmet delights or why not head to Woodstock Wines, 215 Douglas Gully Road, McLaren Flat from 10 am for the Family Fun Day. Fabulous entertainment will be on the big stage for the kiddies as well as roaming entertainment, jumping castle, face painting, balloon artist and magician, lawn games and kangaroo feeding.
If you plan to drive McLaren Vale Grape Wine & Tourism Association and the RAA are encouraging the use of designated drivers and the responsible consumption of alcohol. Collect your Designated Driver wristband from the McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Visitor Information Centre (open until 4 pm Sunday and 5 pm Monday) to enjoy special offers at select venues.
