Every town has a park, but not as large as Yarra Glen's .


It is next to the Memorial Hall and War Memorial and has an off-road car park.

A very extensive play area will keep the little ones occupied with some unusual play equipment.




It's very safe with rubber rocks, and two very large dung beetles rolling up a very large specimen of what dung beetles roll up. If a little one asks, "What are those things?" some interesting answers could result.


There are numerous seats scattered throughout the reserve, with many in shady areas and an undercover shelter with two picnic tables and seats.


BBQs are available for the DIY picnickers.

A very large grassy area would be ideal for ball games for both young and old.

At the top end of the reserve is a skate park, catering for those more adventurous older children.


A toilet block is near the play area.


During the Black Saturday bushfires of 2009, Yarra Glen was ringed by fire and in the district, many lives and properties were lost. A memorial to all those who were affected is within the reserve.




is ideal as a destination picnic area, or if just passing through Yarra Glen, grab some take-away and rest awhile.

If after satisfying the call of nature and stomach, wander across the road to a wetland area and have a pleasant walk looking at the birdlife.


There is a by-pass road which now by-passes Yarra Glen, but why not by-pass the by-pass and see what Yarra Glen has to offer.
