Join The Fun At This Great Community Festival
Everyone loves a fair, and with the arrival of spring and its beautiful warm weather we're certain to see plenty of them popping up all around Brisbane over the next month or so. Taking place on Sunday September 13th from 11am until 3pm, the McDowall Spring Fair will be one of the season's first celebrating the 40th anniversary of McDowall State School with heaps of fun things to see and do for fete, fair and festival enthusiasts of all ages.

A fund-raising venture of McDowall State School Parents and Citizens, McDowall Spring Fair is sure to be a great day out as well as a fabulous way that we can all support a very worthy cause. All the old-time school fete favourites will be there such as stalls selling yummy home-baked cakes, preserves, plants, books, bric-a-brac, showbags, lucky dips, refreshments and much more. For those who are a bit daring there will also be a crazy hair stall.

If you'd like to get some early Christmas shopping done there will be a boutique craft market as well, purveying loads of lovely handmade wares definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something a little bit special. There will also be some great live entertainment throughout the day, including performances by the school choir and band.

Other popular attractions on the big day will be some fabulous fairground sideshows and rides, including an inflatable obstacle course, tribal themed jumping castle, junior combo jumping castle, giant slide, laser skirmish, dodgem cars, Round Up and The Cobra. If you have some young thrill-seekers in your family a great way to save money is to pre-purchase an armband for $30 (during Term 3) so they can enjoy unlimited rides. If you purchase an armband on the day it will be $37, while individual rides will be charged at $6 each, so buying before the event really makes sense. To pre-purchase armbands, go to the Flexischools website.

In a nutshell, if you're looking for something fun to entertain the family on Sunday September 13th, or you simply love the great vibe of classic community fairs and festivals, the McDowall Spring Fair is definitely an event you should jot into your social calendar. With an exciting jam-packed program of cool things to see and do, it's sure to be a hit with the entire family. Best of all, the proceeds all go to support a very worthy cause the McDowall State School P&C.

The McDowall Spring Fair will be held on the McDowall State School oval at 1018 Rook Road, McDowall. To learn more, visit the fair's website.
