The McDonald's Home Delivery Service (otherwise known as McDelivery) has just started in the North Parramatta area. Sydney - we have pizza and other take-away delivery options, and now McDonald's is delivering food directly to our home sweet homes. Did any of us really see this coming? McDelivery landed on Sydney's shores on the 27th of November 2013.
Inside a Sydney McDonald's Restaurant. If all goes well, this service could even span into the city.
It turns out that we may have a junk food problem. Convenient fast-food is now becoming even 'more' convenient. Just dial a Ronald McDonald, and it appears that no artery is no longer safe. McDonald's (in the same North Parramatta area) can now also be ordered on delivery sites such as Menulog as part of the current trial.
The new McDonald's delivery service is offering Family Value packs comprising of chicken nuggets, hamburgers, soft drinks and fries - with a healthier side salad option for a minimum charge of $25, plus a $4.95 delivery fee is charged. Their value meals can also be purchased, yet keep the minimum spend in mind. There is a curfew for lunch; however come dinner time, it may be "Mac Time" for some families in Western Sydney between the hours of 5pm to 9pm. To make "maccas" even more convenient for those who live in the Parramatta area; all credit card types are accepted.
If this takes off, breakfasts could be on the delivery menu too.
Look around the Internet, and the opinions are mixed. Some sources advocate that "none of us need McDonald's delivered to our doors." On the other hand, there are some people who have already commented that this is an "awesome" idea, and "thank you for reminding me to pick up the phone."
