Motto: Have a plan and be prepared.

Be part of the McClelland Gallery Instagram Scultpure competition. Simply upload a picture of a sculpture you love from the Gallery or something you have created yourself before Monday 25th April 2016 with the appropriate tags to win a prize.

The next McClelland Gallery Special Event is the International Sculpture Day, being held on Sunday 24th April from 11am – 3pm.

The program of events commences at 11am with a Tour of the Sculpture Park. If you've ever visited the McClelland Gallery, you will be aware that the park is home to lots of hidden treasures. Many of the sculptures are nestled into bushland surrounds. Whilst they can be enjoyed all on their own, a guided tour would certainly add an extra dimension and provide new information that would give greater insight and appreciation of the sculptures on display.

At 12noon hear artist David Jensz speak before leading a sculpture activity, which will continue until 3pm.

Mr Jensz will be followed at 1.30pm by artist Darren Davison, who will be speaking on site at his sculpture Homespace.

From 1.10pm there will be face painting for the kids, then from 2pm join the tour leaving from Darren Davison's Homespace around the park.

Also at 2pm, children can participate in a workshop at the Tarax sculpture with Margaret Peppard.

At 2.40pm a tour will be given of the current McClelland Collections inside the gallery.

The day will be accompanied by live music courtesy of Erik Parker, along with a sausage sizzle, ice cream and drinks available for purchase. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own picnic to the Gallery and set up on the lawn or visit the onsite café.

The McClelland Gallery is located at 390 McClelland Drive, Langwarrin and entry is free. There is plenty of free onsite parking and be sure to remember your camera. Create your own art and memories to keep as there are plenty of opportunities at the McClelland Gallery, then enter your favourite pic in the Instagram competition for a chance to win.

The McClelland Gallery is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am – 5pm.
