It's time for the people to party at Maylands Street Festival on Sunday 10 November 2019 from 1pm to 7pm. The family friendly street festival is back, hosted by LACE Inc (Local Arts and Community Events) who organise events to bring the community together to take part in and enjoy. They're a newly formed charity run by local volunteers.

The Festival trail runs over three main precincts from Eighth Avenue (LACE lounge, local businesses, food and artisan stalls, roving performers) and Whatley Crescent (main stage & more of the same as per 8th ave, plus buskers), over to Railway Parade (youth stage, free kid's activities & more food & local stalls). There's a free fire truck shuttle from Whatley Cres to Railway Pde for a bit of a fun ride. An accessible and inclusive event, keep your eyes open leading up to the Festival as special events celebrating Maylands abounds 'tween the dates of 1-9 November.

The Railway Parade precinct (by Dome Cafe Maylands & Peninsula Tavern ) is the place to be for small people to enjoy bouncy castles, giant games, facepainting by MollydagFaces , a silent disco and more. Roving entertainment will be on both sides of the tracks including Pirateman Michael wowing young and old with his piratey circus tricks. Don't forget Fireman Kevin's vintage fire truck ( Fire Engine Fun ) to get shuttled over in style if little legs are too tired to move. Once there kids can enjoy a kids stage, art activities and a selection of kid-approved food options like Sizzler , Rancho Sombrero Tex-Mex , and Shiraz Soft Serve to sooth the hungry tummies with cheese toast, nachos and ice cream.

There are activities for the young and old, roving entertainment, games, rides, bars and coffee shops spread throughout the precinct providing you with opportunities to enjoy yourself for the day. Derrek Lau (Magician) will be there to bamboozle you with his magic. Feel free to hashtag your pics to #maylandsstreetfestival #MSF19 so the organisers can see the Festival through your eyes. This is Maylands on a big scale with an expected 10-12,000 visitors. If you'd like to be involved and be a part of this amazing event as a VOLUNTEER , fill in the application form HERE . Help out for a few hours and have lunch for free. All volunteers will also be placed in a draw to win prizes, including a family pass for the Caversham Wildlife Park .

With Christmas around the corner, there are opportunities for you to shop at this wonderful event. If you love all things shiny and sparkly, and which woman doesn't; stop by at MARKNTIME JEWELLERY for unique steampunk-inspired pieces; Mental Gardens for sweet botanical jewellery, Jet Empire Jewellery for semi-precious gemstones, freshwater and Swarovski pearls, crystals and more and Colourful Attachments for quirky, cute and colourful earrings and such like made from Lego, dices, zips, buttons, pencils and other bits and bobs. Follow the links given for a preview of some amazing adornments.

The NTY Property Group 's dunking machine is back by popular demand! To entertain you, Junkadelic Brass Band (joined by a noisy band of ragtag dads and kids who have created their own instrument from junk), Sarah Ramsey and Apocalypso are on board polishing their brass and warming up their vocal cords. There are tasty offerings also on board like Tikka Tango 's Indian fusion, Brazilian tacos and tapas at THE TAPI TRUCK , Spanish-German street food from El Aleman Loco and handmade Chinese steamed buns by Baolicious . All of the mentioned vendors, entertainers and more are but the tip of the iceberg. Follow the thoroughly comb the Facebook and Instagram page for more information, updates and events leading up to the Festival as aforementioned; not to mention sponsors you can support by dining or buying from them.

There are pretty things with artisan vendors locked in. Adorable vintage-style girls' clothes by Ari & Mae , sweet hair accessories from Addicted To Bows , bohemian and Japan-inspired fashion by Tokyo Rose , lamps to love by Mooma & Farj , and premium natural body products from Whipped Earth . Other vendors include Utopia Handmade , Rubigurumi Crochet , Pleatsandtreats , Nelly's handmade , Sara Handmade Soap , ASH and OAK , Little Seed Handmade Jewellery , One Happy Leaf , Pacific Knot , ClayMake Studio , Circus Shop and Little Alannah May to name a few. Again, check out their links for a preview. Crack open those piggy banks and take home some goodies. Remember Christmas is coming!

There are many other treats like locally-made gourmet goodies that'll be on sale during the Festival like Aussie Booch Kombucha, POP KULTURE sauerkraut, Perth wines by Fairbrossen Winery , Dr Paul's Hotsuace , Middle-Eastern treats by Al-Sultan Sweets and more. Once you've eaten your way around all the food trucks and cafes, take home some of these to scorch, tingle, tickle and soothe your tastebuds.

Other events in the lead-up you'll find on LACE's calendar , and many other individual event pages. It's by no way a comprehensive list with upcoming events being added all the time. Just keep watching that Facebook page for updates of this massive, amazing Festival.
