When the Perth Twilight Hawker's Market began with a handful of vendors few people would have predicted that it would grow to be a warm-weather Friday night tradition with dozens of stalls and thousands of visitors. As great as it is, the crowds can be a bit daunting for those with children, and not everyone can get to the city. Fortunately there's another option for foodies with youngsters: the Saturday night s is a gourmet treat the whole family will enjoy.


Held on the lawns outside The Rise community centre, the has more of picnic feel than many similar events. Each week features a changing line-up of food vendors and live entertainment. Recent weeks have included tempting treats from the likes of: Bollygood Foods The Tapas Man Back to Balkan Grilled to the Mac Chicho Gelato and many others. The weekly list of about 20 food stalls is posted on the Facebook page during the week.


Every week different local musicians provide entertainment and a chance for the kids (and their parents!) to burn off some energy dancing. Most weeks there are also free children's activities such as face painting or giant balloons.


Bring the family, bring your appetite and a picnic blanket and get ready for a great night out.

The Rise is located on 8th Avenue near Guildford Road. It's a short walk from the Maylands railway station and there is ample parking nearby.
