Max Bar and Restaurant, on Hardware Lane, offers an extensive Mediterranean menu to satisfy all tastes. I always return for the seafood paella. A traditional Spanish dish with a variety of treasures from the sea mussels, scallops, calamari, and a tiger prawn, flavoured with lemon juice and then scattered rocket for a burst of colour. It tastes even better than it looks!
Available in the traditional form with all the above, chorizo sausage, and red and green peppers. This one kindly modified to accommodate my gluten and dairy free, and low FODMAP diet. The staff are happy to recommend wines too, and selected the perfect match for this dish - a glass of Trentham Estate Chardonnay from Murray Darling region in Victoria.
A great venue for large groups, dinner for one, or for a romantic date.
