Founded in Israel in 1995, Max, the bald man who had wanted to be a writer, produced his own chocolate, designed and served it with best traditions combined with his personal touches, and his passion for classic and contemporary art.
He had created a chocolate culture where he believed that chocolate is not only about taste but a symbol of contradicting emotions and sensations.
Having visited the bald man's chocolate bar many times in Sydney, I've tried a few variety of chocolate drinks from the menu and each experience was indeed unique. Max cleverly created a special ceremony for chocolate drinking by using its exclusively designed utensils to enhance the experience of savouring each chocolate drink.

Banana Milk Chocolate Frappe served in Alice cup
At East Esplanade, Manly Wharf branch, I tried the Banana Milk Chocolate Frappe. It is very thick with strong banana flavour but the combination with chocolate works really well. It can be quite filling as well. I was very full after having it for afternoon tea and eventually skipped my dinner. This drink is served in Alice Cup, specially created for choctails. Inspired by the fantasy from Alice's Adventure in Wonderland where Alice drinks from a bottle labelled 'Drink Me', this cup comes with a metal straw and it aims to remind chocolate drinkers to keep their childhood fantasies alive forever.

Suckao
Suckao is my all time favorite from Max Brenner menu. It's like drinking concentrated chocolate shot in a uniquely designed utensil. You can create your own hot chocolate with an option of either dark, milk or white chocolate. I enjoyed stirring and melting the chocolate and then sipping it bit by bit with the metal straw which is also a spoon. Oh, the milk is refillable too!

Sweet Icon - Chocolate Fondue For Two
The Chocolate Fondue for Two is one of the selection from Sweet Icons range. It is great for sharing and though it says for two, it's sufficient for three to four people if you just want something light to share with friends while catching up. It comes with two fondue towers of pure melted dark and milk chocolate with strawberries, sliced bananas, marshmallows and banana bread on the side.
You can also buy the fondue set from Max Brenner to make your own at home. It's called the
Fire Water Chocolate Fondue Tower which is symbolic to the close bond between chocolate and our very soul, according to the bald man.

Italian thick Chocolate served in Hug Mug
What could be better than sipping a hot cup of chocolate while hugging a warm mug on a cold day? At Max Brenner, hot chocolate drinks are served in a uniquely shaped hug mug. It is designed to perfectly fit both hands for mug hugging. I like the Italian thick chocolate which is not too sweet and it is really thick....and filling too.

Hug Mug
These are my favorite from Max Brenner and if you haven't tried them yet, I would recommend to try Suckao, Hot Chocolates and Choctails. Do check out some of their special utensils too if you want to have your own fondue, suckao, and hug mug at home.
