Let the countdown to Mattara Festival fun begin

Mattara Festival has got the school holidays covered with family-friendly entertainment galore. Best of all - entry is FREE!

Don't miss the final weekend (12th - 14th October)! Wallsend Park will be transformed into the ultimate outdoor activity and entertainment zone with interactive workshops & activities, live stage performances and even a special visit from everyone's favourite red friend, Elmo!

Other highlights to look forward to include:

  • Unlimited Rides (Daily) - Including Tea Cups, Dodgem Cars, Giant Slide and more!

  • The Animal Petting Zoo (Daily) - if you're lucky, you might even get a chance to feed them too.

  • Legomania (Daily) - A free entry area where kids can come and make their very own Lego creations!

  • Meet & Greet with Elmo (Daily) - Keep your eyes open for Elmo walking around the park every day looking for new friends to play with!

  • Dial a DJ Fairy (Daily) - Enjoy musical artists and dancers live on stage, take part in sing-a-longs and win some awesome prizes!

  • Wallsend Vets Hospital & Pets on Parade (October 1) - Wallsend Hospital will host this year's Fancy Dress Pet Parade and offer FREE pet advice, dental checks, & nail trimming vouchers.

  • Bunnings Green Day (October 2) - Kids are invited to learn the art of pot planting.

  • Outdoor Cinema (October 2) - A special screening of Rango commences after sunset.

  • Workshops - Choose from Tie Dye Sock workshops (October 2), Arts & Crafts workshops (Daily) and Eastern Rhythm workshops (Daily).

  • Interactive Sports & Activity Day (October 5) - Clinics will run throughout the entire day.

  • Sid Berry Live (October 6) - Come and enjoy your afternoon in the park with Sid Berry live!

    There will also be favourites such as heaps of showbags to choose from, carnival games to play, and delicious treats to fulfil your appetite.
