GO TONIGHT!

Seriously, once you've been to a Matt Stewart show you'll walk out with that tingling terrifying feeling that there was a possibility you may have missed it.

And missing Matt would be a damn shame.

Unassuming and a touch more dry than "pretty" dry - Matt Stewart is one humdinger of a comedian.

His beard takes centre stage a full minute before he does then he proceeds to lull the audience into a regular rhythm of storytelling mixed with the kind of funny that makes you bark.

We're treated to Matt's singular mix of storytelling and stand up, like regular humorous but a full side step (to the left, we guess...)

Our Fringe World attending party included one old man, one harried mother/writer, and three teenagers. One teen tried to buy her way out of attending with her "olds" because she wanted to watch some insipidly anaemic vampire show. Reruns, no less. The other one was sucking up. He's used all the data for three months. He brought the lovely girlfriend with him. She's still new enough to be agreeable, at least. Aforementioned teens were slightly dubious, but within 10 minutes the girlfriend had her hand over her mouth, the data consuming demon was holding his belly, and the vampire obsessed was laughing loud enough to want shift my chair away a bit.

Hip, self-effacing, clever, unpretentious, a little dark, and, (has he mentioned?), vegetarian, Matt Stewart is a thinking young person's wag.

Matt generally hangs out in Melbourne, so having him here for Perth's Fringe World Festival is a rare treat. He's a big WA fan. He even wrote a (bit of an) article about it.

Another good reason to see Pretty Dry at the Pho Barn, Fringe World: " He's in a 20 seat venue, how often do you get to be a minimum of 5% of the audience?" - Matt.

Plus, we got badges.

And a photo afterwards.

Fresh from sell-out shows at the 2016 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Melbourne Fringe Festival, RAW Comedy winner Matt Stewart is a must see for those Fringe-goers who are mining for comedy gold.

Pretty Dry is on right now at Fringe World Perth's Noodle Palace - Pho Barn. His season only runs 23, 24, 25 and then 27, 28 January so snaffle a ticket STAT!

And fall a bit in love with him on his Facebook page.
