In his 20th year, Matt Byrne delivers another crack-up comedy performance at Maxim's Wine bar on the Parade, Norwood. My Kitchen Fools is a cooking show lover's delight, but we're warned from the start - it's not about the food.

Get ready to meet the show's 'celebrity cooking hosts' Gordon Ramraid (Matt Byrne), Nigella's Awesome (Niki Martin), Rachel Rayban (Stefanie Rossi) and Jamie Bolivar (Marc Clement) who open the night with an engaging theme song complete with humorous choreography and lyrics to match.

The actors did a fantastic job not only introducing themselves, but the rest of the show's cooking couples (and their alter-egos for the evening). With character changes happening mere seconds apart, it was impressive just to watch the multiple personalities coming to life on the stage from only 4 people.

You'll be (figuratively) served a full course meal on the night from each couple. Be careful not to choke on the bad-taste humour and decent lashings of TV quips on the side. From the Greeks, Yia Yia and her grandson Con Moussaka to the gays Colin Justin and Justin Colin, no stereotype is left untouched - or uncooked - just ask hippy duo Big Daddy Grassroots and his niece Moonbeam. Then there's the Farkin sisters, Jacinta and Placinta, who are there to put everyone back in their place - b***ches!

Adding some local stardom to the mix, you'll also get to meet Adelaide's very own Saggy Beer and her pluckin' pheasant alongside Poo with an H and her cringeworthy Asian accent.

The crowd certainly enjoyed the show on the evening we attended, with raucous laughter and a huge appreciation for all things cooking shows. At a cracking two and a half hours long, you'll definitely get your money's worth, though we do recommend getting there early for front row seats as it gets as tight as a sardine can in the back with strained necks almost a given.

If silly, over-the-top and politically-incorrect humour is your thing, then this is the show for you. Matt Byrne and co-delivered an entertaining performance, well worth getting off the couch for.
